The Journey
A family, a craft, a legacy.
1970s
In the humble town of Joaquim Felício, Minas Gerais Brazil, a group of lapidaries from the Ferreira family came together to form the first ever cutters of gemstones in that town.
Early 1990s
Moizes Ferreira de Lima dominated all the Morganite Beryl production throughout the region of Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais Brazil.
Early 2000s
The Ferreira family explored the first African Paraíba Tourmaline deposits in Mozambique, as well as new deposits across Brazil.
2015
The Ferreira legacy cemented its position in Paraíba Tourmaline production from its mine in Mozambique.
2024
The Ferreira family published a book documenting the story of the Paraíba Tourmaline.
2026
Ethiopia was discovered as a new source of Paraíba Tourmaline, with Ferreira Gems as pioneers in crafting and bringing them to the market.
